Tips for driving in St Thomas
When driving in St Thomas, be aware of all the road rules for your safety, and the safety of others.
● In USVI, motorists drive on the left hand side of the road. Many cars, however, are also left-side steering as the cars come from the USA.
● You must always wear your seatbelt.
● The horn is used as a friendly signal rather than to express road rage.
● Animals often roam the roads, so as you drive be wary of chickens, goats and donkeys.

Where to park your rental car
At the Cyril E. King Airport, parking is free for the first 15 minutes. From there, rates begin at USD$2 for the first hour, and rise USD$2 per hour thereafter. The daily maximum you’ll pay is USD$10. The parking lot is open from 6:00am until 11:00pm every day.
There is parking at most places around St Thomas, including some lots, and most are free of charge. On busy weekend nights in Frenchtown, however, you may have trouble finding a close parking space. Try a few blocks down and enjoy a walk in the evening air.
