Some rental companies have blanket rules regarding this. They will only accept a credit card in the name of the renter. Others will accept it if the card holder signs a credit card authorization form. This form gives the renter permission to use their card and stipulates how much the renter is authorized to charge on it and for what services such as the rental, extras, bond (security deposit)/excess (deductible) etc. Before you make a booking, contact us to find out if the rental company will allow you to use a credit card in the name of someone other than the renter.
We recommend you carry an International Driver's Licence (also known as an International Driving Permit). It will make things run more smoothly at the rental counter and if the police pull you over, they can read your license. It is written in 10 languages and serves as an officially recognized translation of your local driving license in over 150 participating members of the United Nations. You should always have your valid local driver's license and passport to show as well. The Permit has been widely used for more than 50 years and is recognized almost anywhere in the world.
An "excess and bond" are also known as the "deductible and security deposit".
An excess/deductible is the amount you are liable for in case of any damages to the vehicle, the liability amount could increase over and above this figure if damages caused are excluded by the supplier's policy.
A bond/security deposit is the amount the supplier will hold/authorise from your credit card.
There are several ways the rental company may collect the bond or security deposit from you. The most common way is to collect an amount of around $100-500 as a bond/deposit. They will hold or "freeze" this amount on your credit card. The excess or deductible is usually anywhere from $1500 to $3500 and can be collected in the same way the bond is collected.
Some rental companies will only take an imprint of your credit card and keep it on file until you bring back the vehicle undamaged. While others may deduct this amount from your credit card. They generally will do this to encourage you to take one of their insurance policies by charging you a daily amount to reduce your excess.
It is also possible for you to cover yourself by taking excess cover online. The advantage here is that the policy covers the policy holder, not just for a single rental company. So you are covered no matter which rental company you hire a vehicle from.
If you have a third party cover such as DriveEasy, you will be fully covered for the excess of the vehicle. If you were involved in an accident, simply submit a reimbursement claim form showing the receipt/invoice of the amount you were charged for damages to your vehicle and you will be refunded up to the amount of your policy.
Most of the major car rental companies will not allow you to rent one of their vehicles if you are on a P plate license in Australia. This includes Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty and Budget.
There are several places you can find the depot location details.
Before You Book: You can find the address for the pick up location by clicking on the "depot info" button on the main search page after you have entered in your search criteria.
Already Have a Booking: Depot location and pick up instructions can be found at the bottom of your confirmation email. If you have followed the link to your confirmation voucher you can also find this information by clicking the red link that says, "Important: please read pick up instructions below".
There are three reasons why your search does not return any results.
1. All of our rental companies in your search location have set a minimum hire period. Please adjust your dates.
2. None of our rental companies allow a one way hire.
3. The pick up date is within 24 - 48 hrs. Please contact us directly.
If you have a problem with your vehicle, please contact the rental company in the first instance as they will be able to assist you immediately.
If you are unable to get hold of them, please contact us at any one of our phone numbers.
The only difference will be the credit card transaction fee.
The amount of the cancellation fee depends on the rental company, please see your terms and conditions regarding this. However, the deposit is nonrefundable. If any further fees apply they will be charged at cancellation.
The most efficient way to cancel your booking is to click on the modification link in your confirmation and cancel from there. We then contact the rental company on your behalf and will advise you the amount of the cancellation fee, if applicable.
Your credit card will only be charged once you have a confirmed booking. At that time the deposit will be collected along with any excess (deductible) or cancellation covers. Each rental company has different policies.
Some companies require full payment upfront whereas others do not require final payment until you pick up the vehicle. Please see the payment details for when the final balance is due. This final balance is automatically taken from the credit card you have nominated, on your due date. No further action is required on your part.
If you chose to pay in your currency instead of the local currency of the country your rental takes place, full payment will be collected upon confirmation. By doing this you lock in the current exchange rate and avoid future exchange fluctuations.
Our secure booking server uses 128 bit encryption which ensures the highest levels of security. This is shown by the padlock in the closed position at the base of your browser screen. Any information you enter and submit on this page will be encrypted and securely transmitted.
A late model is a vehicle that is between 1-3 years old. In some cases vehicles may be up to 5 years old, depending on how many models the manufacturer has released. We also sometimes say 'recent model' in which case 1-5 years is more accurate
"Similar" means the rental company cannot guarantee a particular model car. They will provide you a vehicle with the same passenger capacity and similar size. For example, a Hyundai Getz is similar to a Suzuki Swift as these are in the same category.
All wheel drive (AWD) is almost the same thing as full time 4WD - it is a system that powers all four wheels of a vehicle at all times as well. It can be used full time on all surfaces, including pavement, like full time 4WD. The main difference is that a "4-low" setting is not available in AWD cars. Due to the lack of "low range", AWD vehicles are much less capable in off-road settings than full time 4WD vehicles, but work perfectly well on-road.

Please check the terms and conditions of the vehicle you are interested in renting to view the one way hire policy. One way hire policies vary between each vehicle rental company.
Under "Rate Includes" you may see that the one way fee is included. If you don't see it there, please check the rental terms.
The prices shown on the advertisement panels are live prices for pick ups this week. Prices for vehicle rental change with seasonal demand, much like airline tickets or hotel rooms. They can also change per location. Therefore the only way to get an accurate price is to enter your travel dates into the search panel and select your vehicle from the results displayed with your correct dates.
There are several places you can find information about a depot location.
Before you book: once you have run a search, if the depot location is not shown right away under each vehicle option, you can find the address of the pick up location by clicking on the 'depot info' button that appears on each of the vehicles presented as a search result.
If you already have a booking: the depot location and pick up instructions are on your confirmation voucher. You will also see on your confirmation a red link (that you can click on) which says "Important: please read pick up instructions below".
This varies from vehicle to vehicle, so please read the terms of the vehicle you are wishing to rent. If there is a charge for kms or miles, the charge per mile/km will be listed in the rental terms.
There can be penalties for returning the vehicle after the agreed drop off time. Please check the terms to read about the late return policy of the vehicle you are renting as they can vary from vehicle to vehicle.
All the vehicle specifications we have available are shown on our website. Unfortunately we do not have printed brochures of any of the vehicles featured on our website.
Please check the terms of the vehicle you are thinking of renting, but as a general rule, there are no refunds for the early return of a vehicle.
All taxes are included with the vehicle unless otherwise stated.
If taxes are calculated separately, this will be itemized in the payment description of your booking or under "other fees paid locally upon arrival".
Please refine your search. You may have to extend your dates to achieve minimum rental periods. Also, if your rental crosses over into a new year, please ensure the correct year is selected on the search.
Before you Book:
The age of the vehicle can be found by clicking "Full Specs" from the display page after you enter your search criteria.
After you Book:
Once you have a confirmed booking, this information can be found in your confirmation left to the picture of the vehicle.
The search results panel will display the average vehicle age. When it indicates a "Late Model" this means the vehicle is around 3-5 years of age. Generally all vehicles will be 3-5 years old unless an actual year range is specified.
To lower your security bond, you will need to purchase an excess/insurance cover provided by the rental company. This can be added while you are making the booking online or at the counter on the day of pick up.
Please note that the Excess Reimbursement Protection Products offered during the booking flow are designed to cover the excess through reimbursement only and are Independent from the rental company. This means if the rental vehicle is damaged or stolen during your rental, you will be required to pay the excess to the rental company and claim it back.
Bond (security deposit) amounts can only be reduced if you select an insurance policy that is provided by the rental company.
The rental price can either be calculated per calendar day or per 24hrs. Each supplier calculates their rates differently. Please see your terms and conditions for your rental company's policy.
Calendar Days: calculates each calendar day as one day of rental.
This is counted from the day of pick up to the drop off day.
For example, if you are renting a vehicle from 1 Jan to 5 Jan this would be considered 5 days of rental.
Calculating at 24 hrs : This calculation is one day is 24hrs.
For example, if you pick up a vehicle at 2pm on 1 Jan and returned it at 2pm on 5 Jan, the total days of your hire is 4 days.
No, the only person that can pick up a vehicle is the renter or any additional drivers that are named on the rental contract.
Most rental cars include unlimited miles / kms in the daily cost unless stated otherwise.
Some will come with only limited mileage - and this will be specified under the rates inclusion or price details.
This varies between companies and in some cases an after hours surcharge may apply. Please check the terms of each company for the hours that you can pick up your vehicle.
Most vehicle rental companies do include 24 hour assistance, but please check the terms of the vehicle you are wishing to rent to be sure.
When you search for vehicles, the search results panel will display the average vehicle age. When it indicates a "Late Model" this means the vehicle is around 3-5 years of age. Generally this will be the case for most vehicles unless specified on line with an actual year range.
When your booking is confirmed we email your confirmation to you. Sometimes the security setting on your email can break the confirmation link when it arrives in your inbox. It is easy to fix this. Please copy and paste the link into your internet browser address bar and push Enter on your keyboard to refresh the page.
If you're still unsuccessful, please email us and we can send you another copy in a different format.
Insurance is usually not included in the total price unless you have added it in. Standard insurance may be included, please check the rental company’s terms and conditions for more information.
Motorhome bookings calculate by calendar day. The day of pick up is counted as the first whole day and the day of drop off is counted as the last whole day.
Calendar days: calculates each calendar day as one day of rental.
Car bookings calculate by 24 hours. The 24 hour periods start counting from the specific pick up time. For example - if you pick up a car today at 10am and drop it off tomorrow at 11am, the rental company will charge you a 2 day rental as you went over the 24 hour mark from your pick up time. The extra hour you go over that 24 hour mark will cost you an additional day.
Yes you can! You can add a second email in the last page while booking or if you already have one, you will be able to add it in the manage your booking section in your confirmation voucher. Alternatively, send us an email with your second email address on (or give us a call) and we will be happy to add your extra details to our system.
You can pay by electronic transfer. However, you will need a credit card in order to place a booking request. Please send an email to accounts@goseetravel.com for account details and to arrange electronic transfer payment.
Please note that you will usually still be required to bring a valid major credit card under the driver's name to hold the security bond. The rental company will not release the vehicle if they cannot hold a security bond.
Yes, the bond(security deposit) is payable by major credit card under the driver's name.
Some rental companies require a swipe imprint only or a pre-authorization hold on the driver's credit card, whereas some will require an amount to be deducted from the credit card as a holding security bond. This bond will be refunded back on the day of drop off providing that there is no damage to the vehicle.
Yes, most rental companies require this. Some companies require only a swipe or imprint of your credit card, while other companies require physical payment (and they refund it back at completion of rental). Bonds can vary, and so can the way they are taken - so please check the terms or insurance information on your relevant vehicle.
Most companies offer several options to reduce the size of the bond and security deposit on the day of pick up. These are generally at an additional daily charge (the daily charge is not refundable). You can ask the rental depot when you pick up the vehicle of ways to reduce your bond (security deposit) or excess(deductible) if it is too high for you to cover with your credit card.
You can use a different credit card when you collect your vehicle. However this must still be a valid major credit card, under the driver's name.
A debit card is accepted for the deposit of your booking. Your debit card must display the Mastercard or Visa logo. However rental companies still require a full credit card under the driver's name for holding the bond (security deposit). Debit cards will not be accepted for holding bond (security deposit). The vehicle will not be released to the renter if there is no holding bond.
A security bond or security deposit is a deposit paid by you which is held by the vehicle rental company while you are renting their vehicle. It is fully refundable when you return the vehicle in a satisfactory condition. Some companies require only a swipe or imprint of your credit card, while other companies require physical payment (and they refund it back at completion of rental). Bonds can vary, and so can the way they are taken - so please check the terms or insurance information on your relevant vehicle.
Most companies offer several options to reduce the size of the bond/security deposit. These are generally a daily charge (the daily charge is not refundable), and any options are outlined in the terms and conditions, and presented at the time of booking.
Please check the terms and conditions to see the payment policy of the vehicle you are interested in. Some suppliers on our website demand prepayment (full payment before the rental commences). For suppliers who require that the balance is paid when you pick up the vehicle, you must contact the relevant supplier after your booking is confirmed to check whether they will accept your early payment.
Please note that some rental quotes will require a deposit amount which will always be charged as soon as the booking has been confirmed.
If you see that your booking quote online has a deposit amount, this deposit amount will be deducted automatically from your credit card as soon as the booking is confirmed. Confirmations are processed within 24-48 hours.
If we are having problems charging your credit card, we will contact you to verify the details or to check with your bank.
Due dates for outstanding balances will vary depending on the rental company's terms.
The due dates on your rental balances will be specified in the price breakdown.
"Balance payable on arrival" means you pay for the rental balance when you arrive at the rental counter on the day of your vehicle collection.
"Balance payable upon confirmation" means the rental balance is due once the booking is confirmed. Booking requests will be confirmed with in 24 hours so the balance will be due and charged from the credit card as soon as the booking request is confirmed.
"Balance payable 30 days prior to collection" means the rental balance will be due 30 days before vehicle collection date. This will be charged automatically from your credit card so there is no need to contact us 30 days prior to your pick up.
Please note that some rental quotes will require a deposit amount which will always be charged as soon as the booking has been confirmed.
If we are having problems charging your credit card, we will contact you to verify the details or to check with your bank.
All major credit cards are accepted to pay this. Please note that rental companies no longer accept cash or debit for the bond (security deposit), this is for security reasons.
You can make payment by Visa or Mastercard. American Express, Paypal and Afterpay are also available in some locations
If you need to make alternative arrangements, please contact our accounts department at accounts@onlinerepublic.com
Yes, you will still have to provide a credit card. The supplier of the rental vehicle may require a bond (security deposit) in the form of an imprint, credit card preauthorisation or physical deduction at the time of pick up. This bond is refundable when the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition.
In most cases you will be charged an additional amount of approximately $20 - $30 per day, or will be required to purchase a particular insurance/cover package. Please check the rental terms to see what this amount is as it varies depending on the rental company.
Please check the vehicle's terms and conditions to see if your national driver's license is acceptable. The requirements can vary from vehicle to vehicle. The rental company may require you to have an International Driver's License.
If it is possible to hire baby and child seats or other equipment with the vehicle you wish to rent, these items will be displayed and can be selected during the booking process. Please note that such items are usually subject to availability.
Vehicles can only be driven on sealed or well maintained roads. The rental company reserves the right to restrict their vehicles from certain areas due to inclement weather. Specific areas can also be restricted.
Please see the terms and conditions for details relating to the vehicle you are renting.
Please check the terms to see if your desired vehicle is available for drivers under 21. If so, a different insurance policy may apply, so please read the terms and insurance information carefully.
Another way to find out is by beginning the booking process, as all insurance options are usually outlined on the booking page.
In Australia a child must be in a booster seat until they are either 7 years old, or their weight exceeds 26kg. This booster seat must be fastened to a standards approved fitted anchor point in the vehicle. It is not suitable to use a standard seat-belt to hold the booster seat in place.
Child Restraints
Children under 1 year old must be restrained in a suitable approved child restraint.
Children aged 1 to 7 years must be restrained in a suitable approved child restraint, or occupy a seating position fitted with a suitable seatbelt if one is available.
If the vehicle has 2 or more rows of seats, the child must not be in the front row of seats unless restrained in a suitable approved child restraint or occupying a seating position fitted with a seatbelt.
Australian child restraints must be fitted with a top tether which is attached to a suitable mounting point on the vehicle. The use of European child restraints without a top tether is, therefore, illegal.
Child restraints have been categorised into 3 different weight groups:
> birth to 9kg birth - 6 months (approx)baby restraint or 'capsule'
> 8 - 18kg 6 months - 4 years (approx)child restraint
> 14 - 26kg 4 - 7 years (approx)booster seat and/or harness

Children under 7 years must be properly restrained in an approved child restraint (see below).
Children under 7 years must use an appropriate child restraint if there's one available. They must not travel in the vehicle if you can’t put them in an approved child restraint. The vehicle’s seatbelt on its own isn’t an approved child restraint.
Approved child restraints include: - infant restraints for young babies (often called baby capsules) - restraints for older babies and toddlers (often called car seats) - harnesses and booster seats for preschool and school-aged children
The type of child restraint you need to use depends on the age and size of the child.
Infant restraint birth to 9 kg (or up to 13.5 kg) (approx. 6 months)
Convertible (baby to child) restraint birth to 18 kg (approx. 4 years)
Front-facing child restraint 9-18 kg (6 months to approx. 4 years)
Booster seat 14-26 kg (approx. 4 years to 7 years)
Child harness 14-32 kg (approx. 4 to 7 years)
Your responsibility as the driver is to make sure that any child under 7 years is properly restrained by an approved child restraint. They must not travel in the car if you can't put them in an approved child restraint.
As a general rule, if your child's head is higher than the back of the child restraint, it's time to move them into the next type of child restraint. A child can wear an adult safety belt when the belt crosses their pelvis, not their tummy)

21 years old and over, with a full drivers license. Any drivers under 25 will incur an additional underage driver surcharge. This underage driver fee will be charged separately on the day of pick up, at the rental counter. The surcharge amount varies by company so please check the terms and conditions of the rental company for more information.
Vehicles often come with primary insurance called Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) included in the rental rate. This CDW will often have an excess which is passed onto you when you rent the vehicle, and it is your responsibility to pay this excess if damage is caused to the vehicle. This excess amount can range from $500 to $10,000.
There are instances where vehicles do not come with primary insurance included in the daily rate. For example, often customers from Canada and USA travelling within Canada and USA have to bring their own insurance to cover the rental vehicle. Please make sure you check the terms on the vehicle you are wishing to rent to see if CDW is included.
During the booking process, we offer protection on behalf of RentalCover.com and Riverside Underwriting that can protect the uninsured portion of the vehicle. This can either be an excess refund protection or collision damage protection depending on where in the world you are from and where you are renting.
During the booking process, we may offer protection on behalf of RentalCover.com and Riverside Underwriting that can protect the uninsured portion of the vehicle. This can either be an excess refund protection or collision damage protection depending on where in the world you are from and where you are renting. Excess Reimbursement Protection is an independent protection and works through reimbursement at the end of your rental.
There is no claim fee.
The vehicle you rent may come with an excess. The excess is the amount that you agree to pay, up to, in the event of damage to the rental vehicle. It is the maximum you will have to pay as long as you are driving within the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. Some rental companies require a bond (security deposit) amount (e.g. $300) but will still require you to have the full excess amount (e.g. $3300) available on your credit card in case the rental vehicle is damaged.
If you have been charged the excess by your rental company and purchased excess refund protection from RentalCover.com or Riverside Underwriting, you would be able to submit a claim with them for reimbursement. Provided you are driving within the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and Protection, you will be refunded your excess.
Yes. The supplier of the rental vehicle may require a bond (security deposit) in the form of an imprint, credit card preauthorisation or physical deduction at the time of pick up. This bond is refundable when the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. Purchasing the independent Excess Refund Protection does not negate the need to pay a bond to the rental company.
You will be refunded if you cancel your protection from RentalCover.com/ Riverside Underwriting BEFORE your vehicle pick up date.
If you have purchased protection from RentalCover.com/ Riverside Underwriting, the time can vary depending on the claim and the information you provide. A reimbursement is made once all the relevant information has been received by both the rental company and the protection holder.
Yes you will still need to pay a security bond if you take your own insurance/ travel insurance or even the independent excess reimbursement products we offer on behalf of Rentalcover.com/Riverside Underwriters products.
Rental companies usually offer their own alternative insurance covers which can reduce the excess liability and the bond amount. Generally you can take out an insurance cover with the rental company directly at the counter on the day of pick up.
At the time of booking your independent protection, RentalCover.com/ Riverside Underwriting would have sent you terms and conditions outlining how to lodge a claim.
All claims must be submitted online and will be handled by your protection provider- we recommend that you use a computer instead of a mobile phone for easier document uploading.
A reimbursement is made once all the relevant information has been received by both the rental company and the protection holder. The time can vary depending on the claim and the information provided.
During the booking process, we offer protection on behalf of RentalCover.com and Riverside Underwriting that can protect the uninsured portion of the vehicle. This can either be an excess refund protection or collision damage protection depending on where in the world you are from and where you are renting.
Once you have selected the vehicle you are interested in, the extras page will outline if there is any additional protection available to purchase. Please read the terms and conditions for the vehicle and protection to make sure it is suitable for your needs.
If you don't see any additional protection options here, you can add extra insurance/excess cover upon arrival.
Excess Reimbursement Protection
The vehicle you rent may come with an excess which is the amount that you agree to pay, in the event of damage to the rental vehicle. It is the maximum you will have to pay as long as you are driving within the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. The rental company may charge you this excess if the car is damaged or stolen while on rental.
The Excess Reimbursement Protection you can purchase during the booking flow is designed to cover the excess on your rental vehicle. It is independent from the rental company and works through reimbursement.
Not only does excess reimbursement protection from RentalCover.com and Riverside Underwriting reimburse your excess, it also may provide extra cover for items commonly excluded by the rental company such as windscreen, tyres, towing, administration fees, overhead and undercarriage.
Since the rates on our websites are already heavily reduced, a further discount may not be possible. However, there are a few rental companies that do offer multiple hire discounts, this is usually stated in their terms and conditions. If you have any further questions or would like to enquire about this, please let us know and we'll be more then happy to assist.
We currently do not have any relocation specials.
Some rental companies do have these specials from time to time. You would need to contact them directly as these specials come up on an as needed basis and are not displayed on our website.
If there is a discount or coupon offer available for your travel dates on this website, this offer should be automatically actioned at the time of booking. If the offer is not working, please refer to terms and conditions of the promotion and check its validity by comparing it against the dates, locations, rental company, vehicles and rental length from your search.
There are two ways of adding this into your booking, please see below:
1. During the booking process
Once you are ready to make a booking and you have clicked on the "Start Booking" button, you will be directed to a secure booking page that allows you to add in extras. Scroll down until you see the insurance section with heading - "Would you like optional Excess Cover to reduce your liability?" Here you can select the type of excess reduction that is suitable for you.
2. After your booking is confirmed
On your confirmation email, select the option to add extras or amend your booking. This will direct you to our alterations page where you will need to click on the "Add or edit insurance options" to view additional items and insurance options you can request to add.
Please note that it is mandatory you read the terms and conditions for each excess cover.
If you do not pick up the vehicle on the confirmed day you may be charged a 'no-show' fee.
This fee is outlined in the terms and conditions and is often 100% of the vehicle hire.
Please read the terms and conditions of your booking to find out how many days notice the rental company requires for cancellation. The reason a 'no-show' fee is charged is because the rental company may have declined other bookings based on your confirmed booking.
No, You can not change the name on the booking as the bookings are not transferable to another traveler.
We do not allow name changes on bookings. The initial name on the booking request will be held liable for the booking. If the initial traveler is no longer traveling then the standard cancellation fees as stated on terms and conditions will apply.
Most car rental companies will provide a baby seat, global positioning system (GPS) navigation unit etc for an extra charge.
1. You can select extras during the booking process.
2. You can also add extras once the booking has been completed, use the link in your confirmation email to go to the customer support centre.
3. You can also ask to add extras at the rental counter on the day of pick up. However, we recommend that you request extras in advance because limited supply may mean that certain extras are not available at pick up time.
Please note that the type of extras available differs between rental companies, e.g. not all will have a GPS available. This is why the online system may not offer you certain additional items on some vehicles.
To find out if the supplier you are interested in hiring your vehicle from also hires out racks and snow chains, click on ‘Start Booking’. No booking is made, but it will take you to the next page which will show you a list of extra items you can hire.
The amount of the cancellation fee depends on the rental company, please see your terms and conditions regarding this. However, the initial deposit is non-refundable as per standard terms and conditions. If any further fees apply they will be charged as per cancellation terms on your booking.
The most efficient way to cancel your booking is to click on the 'Cancel booking' link in the Customer Support Center. We then contact the rental company on your behalf and will advise you the amount of the cancellation fee, if applicable.
Your confirmation email has a link to make changes to your booking. On your confirmation email, click on the "Add extra or Make Amendment" option. This will take you to our alteration page where you can select the type of change you want to make on your booking.
An alteration fee may apply. Generally it is $25alteration fee. Please click on "Alteration fees" to view fees before you submit your change(s). You will be able to see the difference in price before you make the change(s).
Please note: All requested changes are on request base only until you receive a new confirmation notice specifying that the changes has been approved and confirmed.
Yes you can change your credit card details. On your confirmation email, you can click to change or alter your booking. This will direct you to our alterations page where you will need to click on the "Submit a new credit card" box to change this.
Most car rental companies will provide a baby seat, GPS navigation unit etc for an extra charge.
1. You can select extras during the booking process.
2. You can also add extras once the booking has been completed, by following the link in the confirmation email to the customer support centre.
3. You can also ask at the rental company counter for extras to be added on the day of pick up. However we recommend that you request extras before pick up day as supplies are limited and the item you require may not available.
Most countries have laws requiring babies or children to travel in an approved child restraint. As the laws are complex and varied by country, please research the law in your destination country by conducting a simple online search - eg type 'US child seat law' in Google.
Please note the type of extras available differs by rental company so this is why you may notice that certain additional items are not offered on some vehicles.
If you shorten your rental on the day of hire or during your hire, you will not be reimbursed as it is considered a "no show" for the requested unused days. Please read your terms and conditions as this may vary per rental company.
If you shorten your rental before pick up, but give notice within the cancellation fees period, the rental company will approve the date change. However, there will be no refund on the unused dates.
If you shorten your rental before pick up and give notice before the cancellation fees period the booking will be recalculated with the current rates for the new dates. If the new dates work out to be cheaper than the old dates then the difference will be refunded and an alteration fee collected.
Please note that if the deposit amount decreases, as a result of the recalculation, the difference will not be refunded. As per standard terms, initial deposits are non refundable. However, if the new deposit is higher then the difference will be charged accordingly
Again please read your terms and conditions as each supplier has different policies about their cancellation fees period.
There are 2 ways of adding miles / kilometres into your booking.
Please make sure you read the rates inclusions and price details, some cars and motorhomes will already include some mileage allowance on their prices.
1. During the booking process
Once you are ready to make a booking and you have clicked on the "Start Booking" button, you will be directed to a secure booking page that allows you to add extras. Scroll down until you see the section headed - "Would you like to add any extra items?" Here you can add mileage/km packages to your booking.
2. After your booking is confirmed
When you receive your confirmation email you can click on the link to visit our customer support centre to modify your booking and add extras. Once in the customer support centre look for the button that allows you to add extras.
Most rental companies include standard insurance in the daily/nightly rates of their vehicles. This standard insurance will have an excess (deductible) liability value from $3000 for cars and $7000 for Motorhomes and RV. Please check your terms and conditions to find out the exact excess value for the vehicle you have booked as it will vary for different rental vehicles.
Excess liability can be reduced by purchasing an additional liability cover or Insurance cover, either during booking or at the rental counter. By paying an additional daily amount for this cover you will reduce the standard excess to a lower amount or to nil.
Additional insurances or liability reductions are optional, not compulsory.
