A rental car from Reggio Calabria is a ticket to adventure.
Reggio Calabria, the primary point of departure and arrival for ferries to and from Sicily, is a busy port. However, it’s not all work and no play; there is a lot of great nightlife in the area, some spectacular and authentic restaurants that plate up the delights of southern Italian cuisine, and Reggio Calabria is also home to a fascinating archaeological museum. The waterfront promenade is a fabulous place to stroll, particularly the famous Lungomare, with Sicily visible across the water.
Picking up an affordable car hire at Reggio Calabria Airport is a fantastic way to discover the beautiful south of Italy. You might plan to take a ferry across to Messina, or stick to the mainland and explore the “toe” of Italy’s “boot” - Lamezia, Crotone and beyond. It’s less than a day’s drive to Naples, and with a rental car, you could even drive the entire length of Italy for a road trip to remember!
