Driving from the Nassau Airport to downtown Nassau
Exit the airport, turning right onto John Kennedy Drive. At the third roundabout, take the first exit onto Prospect Ridge Road, then turn right onto West Bay Street and drive along the coast to reach downtown Nassau. The journey takes around 25 minutes.
Driving tips for your Nassau rental car
Although motorists drive on the left side of road, both left-hand and right-hand side steering wheels are available on the island. Check with your rental provider if you are uncomfortable with a steering wheel on the opposite side. Stay alert when driving around Nassau, rules of the road are rarely enforced or followed.
● Drive on the left-hand side of the road.
● Expect traffic congestion during rush hour times in the downtown area.
● Keep an eye out for pedestrians near the road (and watch out for cars if you’re a pedestrian!).
