Explore the Isaac Region with a car rental from Moranbah
If you're planning to explore Queensland's Isaac Region by car hire, Moranbah is the place to go. One of Queensland's youngest towns, it was built to house the workers and families of the nearby mines. With its abundant amenities and relatively large population, Moranbah serves as a hub for the surrounding smaller towns and villages, including Burton, Pasha and Winchester.
The town is located on the Peak Downs Highway, 193 kilometres southwest of Mackay and just over 482 kilometres south of Townsville. The Central Highlands town of Emerald QLD lies 170 kilometres to the south of Moranbah.
Heading further afield with your Moranbah car rental? Drive 853 kilometres further north to Cairns, recognised as the gateway to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, or travel 965 kilometres down the Burnett Highway to reach Brisbane, Queensland's state capital. Planning an even longer Australian road trip? Give yourself a week to make the 1,600-kilometre drive south to Sydney, Australia's largest city.
