How we use the personal information we collect depends in part on which Services you use, how you use them, and any preferences you have communicated to us. Our primary purpose in collecting your personal information is to help with a smooth and efficient booking process for you. Having your information allows us to provide services to best suit your needs and make your experience quick and easy.
Below is more information about the specific purposes for which we use the personal information we collect about you.
We use personal information about you to provide the Services to you, including to process transactions with you, authenticate you when you log in and provide customer support. We combine personal information about you and your activities to provide an integrated experience tailored more directly to you and your interests, such as to allow you to find information from one Service while searching from another, to vary content, present relevant offers, suggestions or product information as you browse across our websites. This may include comparing your personal data to aggregated historical usage patterns of other categories of customers like you. For example, to recommend things that other customers like you often purchase.
We are always looking for ways to make our Services smarter, faster, secure, integrated, and useful to you. We identify collective learnings based on aggregated data about how people use our Services and feedback provided directly to us and use this to troubleshoot, improve and personalise our Services. We also use those collective learnings to identify trends, usage, identify other groups of people who may be similar to our customers, activity patterns and areas for integration and improvement of the Services. For example, to improve a certain feature, we automatically analyse recent interactions of users and how often they use the feature to gather the most relevant information. We also tailor content or make suggestions to users based on our collective learnings from aggregated data about what other customers like them prefer. We automatically analyse and aggregate frequently used searches to improve the accuracy and relevance of suggested products. In some cases, we apply these learnings across our Services to improve and develop similar features or to better integrate and personalise the services you use. We also test and analyse certain new features with some users before rolling the feature out to all users.
We use your contact information to send transactional communications via email and within the Services, including confirming your booking, reminding you for payments, responding to your comments, questions and requests, providing customer support, and sending you notices. We also send you communications as you onboard to a Service to help you become more proficient in using that Service. These communications are part of the Services and in most cases, you cannot opt out of them. If an opt out is available, you will find that option within the communication itself or in your account settings.
If you begin entering information via the Services in respect of a search or booking and do not complete that booking, we may use that information to contact you by phone or email in respect of that enquiry.
We use your information, including contact information and information about how you use the Services, to identify and create promotional communications that may be of specific interest to you or groups of consumers similar to you, and to display GoSee ads to you on other companies' websites and applications, as well as on platforms like Facebook and Google. These communications are aimed at driving engagement and maximizing what you get out of the Services, including information about latest deals that we think may be of interest to you.
If you opt in to receive SMS and email marketing communications from us, we will also send you new offers, promotions and contests via email and SMS.
We use your personal information to resolve the issues you encounter, to respond to your requests for assistance and to improve the Services.
We use personal information about you and your Service use to verify accounts and activity, to monitor suspicious or fraudulent activity and to identify violations of Service policies.
Where required by law or where we believe it is necessary to protect our legal rights, interests and the interests of others, we use information about you in connection with legal claims, compliance, regulatory, and audit functions, and disclosures in connection with the acquisition, merger or sale of a business.
We use information about you where you have given us consent to do so for a specific purpose not listed above. For example, we may publish testimonials or featured customer stories to promote the Services, with your permission. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
To complete your booking, we may pass your information on to our suppliers.
We also share personal information with third parties that help us operate, provide, improve, integrate, customize, support and market our Services. These parties include:
We work with third-party service providers to provide website and application development, hosting, maintenance, backup, storage, virtual infrastructure, payment processing, analysis and other services for us, which may require them to access or use information about you. If a service provider needs to access information about you to perform services on our behalf, they do so under close instruction from us, including policies and procedures designed to protect your information.
The Services enable you to make bookings for travel services (e.g. car or motorhome rental) directly with third party travel providers. The Services also enable you to purchase insurance in respect of a travel service directly from a third party insurance provider. In these cases, you will have a contract directly with the third party travel provider and/or insurance provider.
We will disclose your personal information to (i) your selected third party travel provider in connection with a booking you make via the Services; and (ii) our third Party insurance provider, in connection with an insurance purchase by you.
Third party travel providers and insurance providers will process your personal information for their own purposes subject to their own privacy policies which they will make available to you. This may be different to how GoSee handles your personal information as set out in this policy.
We work with a global network of partners who help us market and promote our products (for example, by providing consulting and sales services), who generate leads for us, help us improve our products and Services and resell our Services. We may share your information with these partners in connection with these services, such as to assist with marketing and promotions, or as part of our agreement with them.
If you make a booking on a version of our site operated by us under the brand of one of our marketing partners (“Marketing Partner Site”), we (that is, the company specified below) will still process your information in accordance with these terms. However, if you opt in to receive marketing communications when booking on a Marketing Partner Site, we will disclose your contact details to the applicable marketing partner whose brand is shown on the site. In these circumstances, the marketing partner will send you email or SMS communications in accordance with your consent, rather than us, and to opt out of future communications or to request that your information is updated or corrected, you will need to contact that marketing partner.
We share information about you with third parties (including our partners and resellers) when you give us consent to do so. For example, we often display personal testimonials of satisfied customers on our public websites. With your consent, we may post your name alongside the testimonial.
In exceptional circumstances, we may share information about you with a third party if we believe that sharing is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, including to meet national security requirements, (b) enforce our agreements, policies and terms of service, (c) protect the security or integrity of our products and services, (d) protect us, our customers or the public from harm or illegal activities, or (e) respond to an emergency which we believe in good faith requires us to disclose information to assist in preventing the death or serious bodily injury of any person.
We share and transfer personal information with affiliated entities as part of our global operations. We may also share or transfer information in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Services if a transaction takes place, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information.

We also retain some of your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, to support business operations, and to continue to develop and improve our Services. Where we retain information for Service improvement and development, we take steps to eliminate information that directly identifies you, and we only use the information to uncover collective insights about the use of our Services, not to specifically analyse personal characteristics about you.
If you have elected to receive marketing emails from us, we retain information about your marketing preferences for a reasonable period of time from the date you last expressed interest in our Services, such as when you last opened an email from us or ceased using your account. We retain information derived from cookies and other tracking technologies for a reasonable period from the date such information was created.
